Model Engineer Magazine
Started by Percival Marshall and still going strong after a Century of publication the Model Engineer has over the years contained a glorious array of both model and full size Engineering practice and is a source of much useful information, even in these days of CNC machining and 'printing' 3d plastic components.
I am trying to build up a complete collection (primarily to insulate the bedroom wall and provide 'light' bedtime reading ) and currently need the following volumes or 'odd' single issues
Recent years of the magazine have been indexed by several kind people and these are available for download from Bill Phillips site at http://www.groundlevel.demon.co.uk/me_index.html
For those followers of Engineering in Miniature, indexes are available from David Hoskins site at http://www.hoskin.uk.net/EIM Index
Colin Usher has indexed Model Engineers Workshop online at http://members.lycos.co.uk/Livesteam/index.htm
I am also keen to find volumes of either The Engineer or Engineering - particularly pre 1920 !
Note - circumstances having changed, I am no longer in a position to purchase these :( however, if located near Norfolk and offered free, gratis, for the collection of, or bartered for a Phoenix Publications CD etc, I would be very pleased to be considered ahead of the recycling bin...............
Wanted (probably a bit out of date now)

Surplus to requirements
| For some reason my last update did not 'take' however I no longer have any spares for sale / trade and apologies to anyone who may have fruitlessly asked for same, I do still have a quantity of Practical Mechanics (#1 - 1933 - 1960) and English Mechanics between late 1930's and mid 1950's which may be available to a good home subject to 'suitable' offer. I would be very happy to exchange any or all of these for a run of English Mechanics 1936 - 1938 containing Ronald H Clark's 'Early Engines of the Eastern Counties' and associated articles. |
